Marc Aubin

Marc Aubin took his position at By Dzign in 2017. He is an all-around go-getter, with a skill set that spans across many fields of the entertainment and event industry, including set design, fabrication, choreography, costumes and much more. His positive energy and intrinsic drive allow for his creativity and passion to be highlighted in any project that he is a part of.

Marc started his artistic journey in 1981 when he moved to New York City to design costumes for the production company, Le Clique. Over the course of the next fifteen years, Marc collaborated with many artists, performers, dancers and choreographers. Marc’s ten-year collaboration with choreographer/designer, Alice Farley, proved to be the most influential and educational. Designing site-specific works for various, global dance festivals where Marc honed his craft as a costume designer, maker and performer.
Over the next decade, Marc expanded his design/maker skills to the world of showroom exhibition. Creating environments for product merchandising and establishing relationships within the wholesale/home-goods industry.
2006 to 2017 found Marc teaching Theater Technology at the Calhoun School, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Working with students, Marc would teach script interpretation, basic sketch, scale model making, materials ordering, scenic building/construction, scenic painting, basic theatrical lighting and sound. This was a progressive, on-going course, that allowed students to progress year after year, according to their interest and skill level.
In 2017 Marc chased his love of Burning Man toward the west coast. His journey took him to Las Vegas where he quickly found a home at By Dzign where he could showcase his artistic talents.
When Marc is not working, he is dreaming about the next Burning Man festival, spending time with family and friends and enjoys a good bottle of wine.
